We have joined forces with the Gordon Russell Design Museum to offer our guests free entry to the fascinating museum.
Russell’s itself is the former showroom of the acclaimed arts & crafts designer Sir Gordon Russell and the museum – his former workshop – lies just behind our building.
Gordon Russell was heavily influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement. He employed 200 skilled craftsmen in his firm over a 60 year period. He was considered a design pioneer – furniture designer, calligrapher, entrepreneur, educator and champion of accessible, well-crafted design. Schooled in the Arts and Crafts tradition of the Cotswolds he believed that good design has a lasting impact on people’s lives.
Russell’s – a Grade II listed building – was superbly renovated by our owners Andrew and Gaynor Riley and opened in November 2004.
Guests are encouraged to check out the museum online and then ask for details of free entry when they check-in with us.
